Don’t live up to anyone’s expectation
Don’t play by someone else’s rules
Be yourself and follow your heart
So what, let them call you “a punk”
Don’t grow up, always be a child
Be happy with who you are inside
Do not try to follow the crowds
It does not matter if they laugh
In the end this is who you are
In the end a few will be by your side
And the rest will not understand
And try to change you but don’t let them
This is what I used to tell myself
And then I became an adult
The reality of money and career
Blinded me and I forgot all of that
The most unexpected events
Sometimes hit you like a hammer on the head
And you wake to the truth
You wake up from a long boring dream
And the life is back on track
You live and smile and laugh
Yet you get the serious things done
Use your education and brains
And somehow it is enough
